Small Striped Terracotta Pot from Bangladesh


A small striped terracotta pot. When fairly coarse, porous clay is fired, it assumes a color ranging from dull ochre to red. This baked clay is called terracotta and is popularly known by its color. 

Striped terracotta pots are made by hand, etched with horizontal lines, baked and then white washed to create a simple rustic striped planter. Pots do not have a drainage hole in the bottom. Medium terracotta pot measures 4.25" in height and 4.25" in diameter. This is a handcrafted item, so product may vary slightly in color and craft from the images.
