Buri is a common palm tree in Philippines. The leaf of the buri palm is used in making the buri rope. The spines of the buri palm are used to make this ornament.

This is a red cardinal bird ornament. The hair of the bird is made from natural spines of buri palm leaf and the eyes are made from black beads. Locally available twigs are attached as legs and beak. Leaves of tropical plant pandan are colored and attached as wings. This ornament measures 2.5" in height and 3" in width. A jute cord is provided for hanging. This is a handcrafted item, so product may vary slightly in color and craft from the images.
